Today's cards

Second post for today, although almost 23 hours after the first one.  Somewhere inbetween posts, I did manage to get some sleep, get a load of stuff listed on eBay as it's a free listing weekend here in the UK,  do some boring domestic stuff and also managed to make a few cards!

The first one is my entry for CAS-ual Friday's CFC39 challenge, which is a clean and simple card with paper piecing.

I cut two strips of coordinating pink backing paper, then stamped directly onto the card with a bird image that came with a magazine, and also a 'sweet tweet' sentiment that came with the same set.  I then stamped the bird image again onto another piece of the plain pink paper, cut out the wings and overlaid them onto the image.

They don't show up too well in the photo because the paper's so pale, but they're there, honest!

The next two cards aren't for challenges or anything in particular, other than to add to my slowly growing stash of Christmas cards.

A hand-stamped and hand-coloured Christmas candle, with a stamped sentiment, some peel-off snowflakes and a bow.  Despite watching numerous tutorials on how to tie bows, and seeing some wonderful ones elsewhere on other people's cards, I'm still crap at them.  Definitely more practice required.

Again, hand stamped and hand coloured images, and a slightly improved attempt at a bow!

I wasn't anticipating creating the last card I'm posting today, but when Mother-in-law announced that it's her friend's grandaughter's first birthday tomorrow, I couldn't resist making a card for her.  It won't get there in time for the day itself, but hopefully the little girl (or at least her mum!) will like it.
Thanks for stopping by, and hope you're having a great weekend.
