Less is More Week 55

We've had a quiet, rather lazy weekend following a very long and hectic Friday when we had to do a 500-mile round trip from Yorkshire to Portsmouth for my aunt's funeral.  It went as well as any funeral can go, and despite it being such a sad occasion, it was nice to catch up with various family members, many of whom I haven't seen for a very long time.

Saturday brought some reasonably nice weather, so we went out for some fresh air and so Mr YC could take some photos of local churches in good light.  It was very cold, so the Possum (who's gone down with a cold) and I stayed in the car, but I did take some 'arty-farty' shots of a tree because I liked the way the light was shining on it.

Later, I made a couple of mini cards, both using stitching, and tried to catch up with the latest challenges for the coming week.

Having not had the materials to enter the last couple of challenges over on the "Less is More" blog, I knew I wanted to enter this weeks, which is a clean and simple card, using punches or die cuts.  So my entry for Less is More Week 55 is this one:

I also used some of the same papers and die cuts to make this next card, but I think there's a bit too much "stuff" on it to count as a clean and simple card, so I'm entering this into the Digidoodles Challenge 95 "Anything Goes".

Once the cards were finished, we took advantage of a lovely day to get out and take some more photos, again of churches.  Mr YC has got a thing about HDR images at the moment, and old buildings do give some lovely results.  If you want to take a look, you can visit his online gallery.  I love the effect HDR gives of painted images as opposed to photos.

Thanks for stopping by.
Hugs, Jess.
